Happy 7th Birthday, Spin Rewriter!

We’re celebrating today — Spin Rewriter just turned 7! 😀

Spin Rewriter's 7th birthday

I can’t believe how quickly they grow up… 😀

I remember launching the first version of Spin Rewriter like it was yesterday. The date was September 14th, 2011… and it was a beautiful, sunny Wednesday. Our entire team was absolutely tiny back then — but we were all incredibly ambitious and thirsty to prove ourselves. Oh, and everyone was (and still is) insanely hard-working. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a team spirit or enthusiasm like that ever before.

For me, launching the first version of Spin Rewriter was probably the most stressful time of my life — but also one of the most wonderful and magical times, all at once.

I remember being completely blown away as soon as the feedback from our first users started rolling in… Everyone was going absolutely crazy about Spin Rewriter, and within a couple of days I must’ve responded to more than a 1,000 of overwhelmingly positive customer support tickets. Those were some crazy sleepless nights for sure!

The reason that Spin Rewriter made such an enormous splash was quite simple — it was the first intelligent article spinner the world had ever seen. Back in 2011, it was the first software tool that could tell the difference between “book” as in “novel“, and “book” as in “make a reservation“.

I know, I know… We take these things for granted nowadays, especially now that our ENL Semantic Spinning technology has advanced to something that’s way beyond basic meaning-extraction like that. But back then, in 2011 — the early beginnings of our technology were some TRULY mindblowing stuff for the time!

And for every single year of its life, Spin Rewriter has only gotten better and more popular. And what’s most important — our 100,000+  happy users have kept sending us incredibly positive feedback all along.

So let me take this simple opportunity to say…

To Spin Rewriter: Happy 7th Birthday!

And to our customers… You guys are THE BEST!

The blog got a brand new look!

Well, this kinda goes without saying, doesn’t it?

But yes — the blog just got an updated, very 2018, very mobile-responsive, very polished, brand-new look. I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out!

It now matches the aesthetic of Spin Rewriter much more closely, and — as always — it will keep you up to date with everything that’s going on with Spin Rewriter. All development updates, API updates, news for our affiliate partners, announcements for our awesome customers, etc.

So — hooray! 😀

Spin Rewriter 9.0 is coming!

Remember my super hyped-up post from June? 😀

Well, we’re getting closer and closer to fruition… as all the hard work of the past couple of months has been paying off.

We’re well on our way to delivering an absolutely INSANE version of Spin Rewriter, and now we’ve finally got the DATE as well:

Spin Rewriter 9.0 is coming on October 4th, 2018!

You’ve heard it here first!

We cannot wait to show you what we’ve been working on! 😀

Minor API issues… (resolving!)

Our latest database server update decided to play a little game with us, as it would sometimes use an incorrect timezone setting for some of the queries… which means that sometimes the codebase and the database server disagreed about the current time to the tune of 4 hours.

While the rest of the server infrastructure knew it was supposed to run on New York time, the database server sometimes mistakenly hopped over to the default UTC (+0 offset) and introduced a couple of glitches into our API system.

Now that we’ve localized (heh) the source of the issue, we’re already working on a resolution and everything should be back to normal quickly.

Big things coming!

Without saying too much, I feel the need to post this short quip about the latest news on Spin Rewriter:

BIG things are coming!

We’ve just finished laying down the roadmap for the 9.0 version of Spin Rewriter which we’re planning to release in October, just like we have for the past 6 years or so. (Prior to that, version updates were on a different schedule.)

The changes that we’ve got planned for 9.0 (and the development of which is well underway!) are going to be absolutely amazing, and I personally CAN’T WAIT to show them what we’re working on.

And now — it’s back to work for us! 😀

WWDC was an absolute blast!

Here at Spin Rewriter we’re not just visiting the conferences in our immediate SEO / IM space, but we’re always making a conscious effort to branch out into the wider tech arena — to make sure we don’t miss out on any trends, and that we stay on top of things, technologically speaking.

So, right now I’m sitting at SFO, about to fly out of the Bay Area (Silicon Valley), and I’m reminiscing about how great Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) turned out this year.

The trends for the future are clear, and we’re 100% ready to keep delivering cutting-edge technology in a user-friendly package to our awesome customers! 😀

WordPress Plugin – updated!

We’ve just updated our WordPress plugin that lets you use Spin Rewriter’s power of ENL Semantic Spinning right inside your WordPress admin panel.

The update has rolled out earlier this morning, and includes a number of improvements and some minor bug-fixes. It also ensures full compatibility with the latest version of WordPress, namely “WordPress 4.9.5 Security and Maintenance Release” that was released on April 3rd, 2018.

If you’re already using our WP plugin, just click the “Check for updates” button next to it inside your WP Admin panel. And if you haven’t installed it on your WordPress websites yet, download it from within your Spin Rewriter account and put it to good use! 😀

Our API just got a speed boost!

You know how Spin Rewriter comes with a super powerful API that lets you use the full power of our ENL Semantic Spinning technology from within other apps, and other software tools?

Well, we just rewrote and optimized some core parts of our API endpoint service, which means — in practice — that your API requests will now process even more quickly. I’m sure that for some of our heaviest users, this will be quite a game-changer! 😀
